Finding the right foundation
is a very tedious process. Trying to find the perfect color match, which to me
seemed to never exist or making sure the foundation isn’t too matte or too oily
because you don’t want to look like dipped your face in Crisco by the end of
the day or feeling your face feeling dry like the Sahara Desert. Through a long
process and a few test runs, I’ve found some really good foundations, some are a
little expensive and some just a few bucks, so I decided to share some with you
guys.
1.
Estee Lauder Double
Wear Foundation (Sandalwood)
I’d heard so many good reviews
about this foundation, so I ordered it online, guessing my color & it was
like 4 shades too dark. So of course, I returned it and actually got matched
& that’s how I got Sandalwood. This foundation is matte, but it’s just the right
consistency. It’s not too drying and it does a great job on coverage, basically
a good medium to full coverage. It probably one of the few foundations that
matches me perfectly. Estee Lauder does have a good little range of foundation
shades. It’s on the high end side, $42, isn’t that bad If you consider it being
an investment!
2.
Maybelline FIT ME
Matte + Poreless (Warm Honey + Toffee)
Pro, Maybelline is always a go
because it’s so accessible, consistent, and cheap! Con, rarely you find drugstore
foundations in a wide range of shades. I have to mix Warm Honey and Toffee to
get something close to my complexion. It’s a good full coverage foundation. It’s
a little more matte than I would like but, nothing too harsh. If you moisture
and set your foundation you’ll be ready to go babygirl.. Retails for about $8,
a good foundation overall, probably a top drugstore foundation and brand for
me!
3.
Makeup Forever
Ultra HD Invisible Cover (Y455 Pralines)
This was my first high end
foundation, that I purchased on my own, and I had to make sure it was well
worth it. And it was. This foundation feels so lightweight on the skin. Writing
about it, makes me miss it, low-key. Lol. I actually got matched for this
foundation and I think homegirl was trying to play me because that foundation
was a too light, but no worries, I exchanged it the next day. It’s not a matte foundation,
it gives off natural look. Coverage is like a medium, I feel like I use to pack
it on. It runs for about $43!
4.
Deciem The
Ordinary Serum Foundation (3.1 R or 3.2 N)
Found out about the Serum
Foundation from one of my new favorite YouTubers Jocelyn Partee, her makeup is
always, literally always flawless. The company is based out of Toronto, so ordered
it online. From the shades displayed online, I got two shades, what I thought
would work and one was too light and the other was too dark, so I decided to
mix of course and got a decent shade. This foundation is like water, which
probably sounds bad, but it’s a great thing to me. It’s so lightweight, really
gives you that skin feel. It doesn’t give you that foundation feel, if you
understand me. Coverage is light to medium. It’s perfect for the days you’re really
not about to slab on a ton of makeup, but you want your skin to look nice and
even. For me, it’s a must to set this foundation! The foundation is water based,
so it will literally give you that wet/oily look if you don’t set it, but hey
it’s your prerogative. Here’s the big reveal though, its $6.70, yes... I know I
was shook too. I love this foundation!
5.
Smashbox Studio
Skin 15 Hour Wear (4.05 or 4.15)
Okay, this Smashbox is L I F E! My friends
and I watch Alyssa Forever on YouTube and the way she talked about this
foundation, we had to get it! I think it’s everything I ever wanted in a
foundation, except it doesn’t have a shade that matches well for me. The shades
are the closest to my complexion, it gives me a really orange look after
applying it, and I have yellow undertones. It’s really not cute if I’m just
walking out of the house with just foundation on. Lol. But other than that, the
foundation isn’t thick or too oily, it’s not a matte, but I do like the wat it
feels on the face. It’s buildable coverage. It’s longwearing. I just really
love this foundation, this one’s my fav!
These are just my top 5, but you get my drift. If you haven’t
already, go out & try some of these foundations and tell me how much you
love or hate them! Remember, Stay Golden!
